DUI Driver Scratches, Kicks Officers While Resisting Arrest In Prince William County: Police

A Virginia woman is facing multiple charges after she allegedly resisted arrest and assaulted officers while being processed for a DUI, police said.

Shayla Monae Ingham, 24, of Manassas, was taken into custody early Saturday, March 8, after officers stopped her on Sudley Road near Crestwood Drive and determined she was driving under the influence, according to the Prince William County Police Department.

The situation escalated when officers brought Ingham to the Adult Detention Center, where she actively resisted, scratched one officer, and kicked another, authorities said.

She was restrained without further incident, and no injuries were reported.

Ingham was charged with two counts of assault and battery on a law enforcement officer, as well as DUI and obstruction of justice.

She was ordered held on a $5,000 secured bond, and her court date is pending.
